Card Security: Stay Alert at Public Kiosks 💳
When paying for parking or withdrawing cash at an ATM, we sometimes just "plug in" our cards without a second thought. But be careful, scammers are getting craftier. They often install "skimmers" that look like normal card slots but are actually designed to steal your card data for cloning.
i) Cover Your PIN: When entering your PIN, don't "show off." Cover the keypad with your other hand so that hidden cameras can't record your secret code.
ii) Just "Tap" It: Whenever possible, use the contactless or "tap" function. You don't need to insert your card into machines that look suspicious or loose. When the card stays in your hand, you'll have better peace of mind.
iii) Wiggle the Card Slot: Before inserting your card, try to give the machine's slot a little wiggle. If it feels loose or has strange attachments, don't risk it! Look for another machine that is more secure.
Don't let a rush to save time cause your bank balance to "vanish" in the blink of an eye. Stay alert to keep your pocket safe! 🛡️
